Avina secures permits for California hydrogen plant

Avina Clean Hydrogen has secured the necessary permits to begin construction of a hydrogen production and refuelling facility in southern California.

The project, expected to produce 1,400 tonnes of compressed hydrogen per year once operational, will serve the state’s transportation industry, fuelling nearly 100 fuel cell heavy-duty trucks and buses daily.

The plant boasts a scalable design to allow for future growth to meet the anticipated hydrogen demand increase. It’s scheduled to enter operation in the first half of 2025.
