AVID to roll out EnerVenue’s hydrogen products across Australia

EnerVenue will continue its expansion in Australia after agreeing to supply its metal-hydrogen batteries under a new supply deal with AVID Group.

The Perth-based energy solutions provider is expected to install the long-duration Energy Storage Vessels (ESV-4) at its own manufacturing site and customers’ commercial, mining, industrial and microgrid locations across Australia – with EnerVenue offering in-country support.

The ESVs are understood to be “well-suited” for AVID and its Australian customers, who mostly deploy remote commercial microgrids and use cases within the mining and industrial sectors. EnerVenue’s solutions offer long-duration cycling, capable of more than 30,000 cycles continuously.

H2 View understands the ESVs will deliver a lower levelised cost of storage (LCOS) and eliminate legacy challenges of operating battery systems at mining, industrial and microgrid sites. The hydrogen systems can also integrate with power generation sources to reduce fuel requirements.

“AVID customers with remote commercial, industrial, mining and microgrid use cases will realise especially transformative benefits due to the resiliency and reduced operational expenses our technology offers,” explained Randall Selesky, Chief Revenue Officer at EnerVenue.

AVID Group’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), Jake van Rensburg, added, “EnerVenue’s technology underscores our commitment to helping businesses achieve their near and long-term energy management goals through proven, innovative and sustainable solutions.

“The installations of ESVs at our own manufacturing site promises to significantly reduce our peak-time energy costs while showcasing the technology’s operational excellence.”

The COO continued, “Once that installation is complete, the site will serve as a reference for our partners to see firsthand the wide-ranging benefits of this advanced energy storage solution and the opportunities available for their own applications.”
