Avaada Group has secured pre-certification to produce green hydrogen and ammonia that will comply with EU rules at its planned greenfield project in India.
Expected to boast a 500,000-tonne-per-year green ammonia production capacity, the project in Gopalpur, Odisha, was first announced in 2023 and secured $1.8bn of financing support from REC Limited.
The pre-certification for Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO), awarded by TÜV Rheinland, covers the production, storage and transportation of green ammonia on a well-to-port basis.
