Western Australia (WA) Police Force has announced today (June 1) it is trialling a hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle for potential future frontline policing applications.
The police force has received a Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, which has been fitted with WA Police Force branding, police radio, lights, and sirens.
Set to be tested in an operational environment in the Fremantle District of Perth, the hydrogen-powered police car signals the force’s intent of meeting the Western Australian Climate Policy.
