Australian Government supports Queensland hydrogen project study with A$20m

The Australian Government has granted A$20m ($13m) of funding to support a front-end engineering and design (FEED) study for a large-scale renewable hydrogen project in Queensland.

Provided by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) on behalf of the government, the funding has been granted to Stanwell Corporation for its planned project in Gladstone.

The A$117m ($76.5m) project is expected to finalise the development stage of the Central Queensland Hydrogen (CQ-H2) Project, which will initially see a capacity of up to 640MW of electrolysers for green hydrogen production that will be purchased by offtakers and converted to ammonia and liquid hydrogen for export.
