Australia is to invest $2bn in a Hydrogen Headstart programme as it aims to become a renewable energy ‘superpower’.
The production programme was included in the Federal Government’s package of spending measures within its 2023/24 Budget.
Alongside promoting hydrogen production, the Australian Government aims to electrify its economy, promote energy-efficient commercial buildings and invest in ‘cleaner, cheaper and more reliable’ energy – and is targeting 82% renewables by 2030.
