Australia has started trials for a hydrogen Guarantee of Origin scheme that aims to add value for all types of hydrogen with specification on how the hydrogen was sourced to allow customers to know how clean it is.
Revealed today (Dec 10), the Australian Government will work with hydrogen players to test the design of a scheme to assure the source of locally produced hydrogen and its derivatives.
Key aspects on the creation of hydrogen will be tracked to measure the emissions from hydrogen production. This will additionally include the type of technology used to manufacture the hydrogen to allow customers to make informed choices on which hydrogen to buy.
