The Australian Government announced six shortlisted applicants for its AUD $2bn ($1.36bn) Hydrogen Headstart Program at the end of December (2023).
Representing over 3.5GW of electrolyser capacity, the six projects are said to be among the “largest” renewable hydrogen projects globally.
Having been invited to submit full applications to the next stage of negotiations, if successful, the projects could receive a production credit for renewable hydrogen or derivatives over a 10-year period.
