Australia is proposing to support hydrogen projects with a production credit over 10 years.
The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) and Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) have today (July 7) opened consultation on the design of the federal government’s A$2bn ($1.bn) Hydrogen Headstart programme.
Revealed in the 2023 federal budget, Hydrogen Headstart is hoped to deliver an acceleration in the country’s renewable hydrogen production by bridging the commercial gap for early projects.
