Hydrogen fuel cell specialist Arcola Energy’s plans to build an engineering, manufacturing and aftermarket facility at a former tyre factory site in Dundee, Scotland have taken a step forward.
Dundee City Council, Michelin and Scottish Enterprise are together transforming the site to become a world-leading sustainable transport hub, called Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc (MSIP).
Arcola Energy today (16th March) said it has secured a £1.5m grant from Scottish Enterprise to create the brand-new engineering and manufacturing facility at MSIP.
The first phase will look to recruit around 20 employees to support the Scottish hydrogen train project and project development for hydrogen-powered vehicles, with the remainder being recruited over the next three years as Arcola looks to expand its production on this particular site.
