ArcelorMittal Europe will this year offer its first green steel solutions it its customers, as the company starts to integrate hydrogen technologies into its steelmaking process.
The announcement its part of the company’s goal to reduce its carbon emissions by 30% before 2030 and achieve net zero by 2050.
In order to offer its green steel solutions, ArcelorMittal is developing a series of industrial-scale hydrogen projects for use in blast furnace-based steelmaking.
If it is going to reach its goal, the hydrogen used within the process will need to be green. ArcelorMittal is therefore developing the facilities to produce green hydrogen using electrolysers.
