Canada could be the next country to integrate hydrogen into steel manufacturing with ArcelorMittal successfully testing the clean energy carrier in Quebec.
Revealed on Monday (May 2), the company integrated green hydrogen into the production of direct reduced iron (DRI) providing a new market in which the Canadian hydrogen sector can explore.
As part of the test, the company assessed the ability to replace the use of natural gas with green hydrogen within the iron ore reduction process.
