Arcadia eFuels’ Danish sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plant will use a 280MW Plug Power electrolyser to produce green hydrogen feedstock.
Set to be installed at the Vordingborg facility, the PEM electrolyser will produce around 120 tonnes of green hydrogen per day which will be combined with biogenic carbon dioxide (CO2) to produce syngas.
Further processing the syngas is planned to generate a carbon neutral SAF that meets the EU’s renewable fuels of non-biological origin (RFNBO) requirements, to meet the bloc’s recently agreed requirements to see SAFs make up 70% of jet fuel consumption at airport by 2050.
