Seifi Ghasemi’s recent ousting as Chair, President and CEO of Air Products has raised questions about the industrial gas major’s future focus on clean hydrogen.
Installed as an unusually powerful leader over a decade ago, Ghasemi oversaw a significant drive to build up the firm’s clean hydrogen capabilities, to steal a march on the competition about hydrogen’s emerging potential as a mainstream energy carrier.
“We moved first with focus and conviction to capture the important first-mover advantages [in clean hydrogen],” Ghasemi told investors just last November.
