Seven hubs, $7bn of funding and a potential three million tonnes of hydrogen per year – it’s been a long awaited but whirlwind day for the US hydrogen industry.
Today (October 13) was the day the US Department of Energy (DOE) named the regional clean hydrogen hubs it would fund as it strives to establish regional networks of clean hydrogen production and end use.
The White House says the hubs will catalyse $40bn of private investment, delivering a third of the 2030 national goal of producing 10 million tonnes of hydrogen per year, and players have applauded the move.
