Brineworks has secured €2m ($2.2m) in funding to accelerate its seawater electrolysis technology capable of extracting hydrogen and CO2 from the ocean.
VC firm Pale Blue Dot led the funding round, supporting the Dutch start-up’s direct ocean capture (DOC) technology, which could enable large-scale e-fuel production.
Based in Amsterdam, Brineworks is now expected to advance its technical development and deploy its first technical pilot project, utilising the secured investment.
H2 View understands the technology can produce both hydrogen and CO2 at a low cost, whilst also being a clean, decentralised and self-sufficient solution that can power engines without relying on the grid.
