ZeroAvia’s ambition to decarbonise the aviation sector with hydrogen-fuelled flights has today (16th Dec) picked up a significant tailwind with $21.4m in new funding from the likes of Bill Gates’ Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Amazon and Shell.
Led by Breakthrough Energy Ventures and Ecosystem Integrity Fund, the Series A funding will allow ZeroAvia to accelerate the development of its hydrogen-electric powertrain which recently received the backing of British Airways, through which it received approval for new UK Government funding through the ATI Programme of $16.3m.

Taking both the funds of today’s announcement and the British Airways partnership into consideration, ZeroAvia’s total of new funding now boasts an impressive $37.7m, with its total funding since interception totalling $49.7m.
