The first round of the Extreme E Championship provided a spectacular backdrop for AFC Energy and Altaaq to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which will support Saudi Arabia’s hydrogen energy transition.
The deal will bring together the two companies’ extensive experience to support the transition of the region’s power generation industry to zero emission solutions using AFC Energy’s hydrogen fuel cell technology.
AFC Energy provided a hydrogen fuel cell generator to Extreme E which allowed the all-electric race series to remotely charge its fleet using zero emission energy.
It was this that triggered Altaaq, a Zahid Group company, to sign a deal which will now see them use the technology to revolutionise its vast operations in the region, AFC Energy said in a statement.
