Alstom to supply “world’s largest fleet of fuel cell trains”

Alstom has won a €500m ($557.3m) contract to supply the “world’s largest fleet of fuel cell trains” to the Fahma rolling stock subsidiary of Rhine-Main transport authority RMV.

The French manufacturer said it will deliver 27 Coradia iLint’s by 2022. The fuel cell trains will replace the existing diesel-powered trains in Hesse, Germany.

The order also includes the supply of hydrogen, which Alstom will provide in cooperation with Infraserv, and 25 years of maintenance. The filling station will be located on the premises of the Höchst industrial park.
