Alleima was among the companies making in-roads at Hydrogen Technology Expo North America in Houston last week, as it promoted its micro-factory on-site manufacturing solution of high-pressure tubes for hydrogen refuelling stations (HRS).
The mobile and connected container can be tailored to suit individual customer needs and be flexibly located where required, reducing waste, and increasing safety along with time and cost savings. Tubes can be as long as 200 feet.
On the stand, Tobias Lummerich, Global Industry Manager Hydrogen, explained, “Our core business is the stainless steel tubing, we acquired some years ago a machine engineering company which built this container. In the US we are still in discussions, we have to understand the demand, and think about producing a container for the US – which is different from Europe. In California there are many projects and we want to be here at the start.”
As the world seeks to transition away from fossil fuels, hydrogen-based technologies are emerging as among the most promising alternatives for a greener future. In the case of hydrogen, the main obstacles are a lack of supply and infrastructure, but this is changing.
