Aker Horizons has applied for and been allocated grid capacity of 250MW and 120MW for its large-scale green ammonia plants in Norway.
The hydrogen-based ammonia plant, located in Kvandal outside Narvik, is currently under development and the company was also awarded capacity for its project in Berlevåg, with 120MW available when the new 420kv-line to Seidafjellet is completed.
The grid capacity in Kvandal was allocated through Nordkraft Industrinett AS, ensuring that the Narvik Green Ammonia project, being developed with Statkraft, has sufficient grid for daily production of up to 1,000 tonnes of green ammonia.
