The use of hydrogen at three Japanese airports is to be explored, following Airbus and Kansai Airports signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), it was revealed today (June 10).
Through the partnership, the companies plan to prepare a roadmap to address the challenges of transitioning to hydrogen use and define a support plan for hydrogen needs.
Kansai International Airport, Osaka International Airport, and Kobe Airport will be at the centre of the agreement, where Airbus and Kansai hope to define the potential opportunities hydrogen can offer to decarbonise the Japanese aviation industry.
