Air Products wants to demonstrate demand for hydrogen before its takes FID

During Air Products’ Q3 earnings call, CEO Seifi Ghasemi reiterated that the company wants to demonstrate a demand for hydrogen before it takes a final investment decision (FID) on any new major projects.

He said, “You should expect to see the NEOM (Saudi Arabia), Louisiana and Edmonton (the US and Canada) fully loaded before we make an FID on another project. There is one other we are working on in northern Texas, but we do not plan to take any FID until we have total clarity on what the Inflation Reduction Act’s (IRA) rules are for green hydrogen.”
