Air Products and nogaholding, an investment and business development arm of National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA), will assess the potential development of a hydrogen economy in Bahrain as part of a new agreement.
The two companies today (26th Nov) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the project will explore the viability of deploying hydrogen as a sustainable fuel in the transport sector, as well as an avenue to reduce carbon emissions.
Representing nogaholding, Mazen Matar, Chairman of Bahrain LNG WLL signed the MoU with Imtiaz Mahtab, Air Products President of Middle East, Egypt and Turkey.
Commenting on the agreement, Matar, said, “The studies outlined in the MoU encompass different areas from analysing the potential of hydrogen resources and evaluating other oil recovery possibilities to devising plans of deploying permanent hydrogen refuelling station with an ultimate goal of achieving hydrogen economy.”
