Air New Zealand today (Sep 16) said it is working with Airbus to research how hydrogen-powered aircraft could be a part of its fleet for regional flights by 2030.
The airline and aerospace giant will together study the impact hydrogen aircraft might have on Air New Zealand’s network, operations and infrastructure.
Airbus has made no secret of its own interest hydrogen, unveiling three hydrogen-based concepts in 2020 along with its ambition to bring the world’s first zero-emission airctaft to commercial service by 2035.
