Air Liquide, TotalEnergies plan 450MW of Dutch hydrogen electrolyser projects

Air Liquide has announced €1bn ($1.05bn) plans to build two large-scale electrolyser projects in the Netherlands to supply TotalEnergies with clean hydrogen.

Combined, the two projects will produce up to 53,000 tonnes of “low-carbon and renewable” hydrogen per year from 450MW of electrolysis, powered by TotalEnergies’ renewable assets.

The first project, ELYgator, will see the French industrial gas major build, own and operate a 200MW electrolyser in Maasvlakte, Rotterdam, which will produce up to 23,000 tonnes of hydrogen per year.
