Agronomics invests A$2.5m in green hydrogen company HydGene

Agronomics has invested A$2.5m ($1.7m) in HydGene Renewables, a developer of synthetic biology to engineer microorganisms for use in hydrogen production.

The announcement comes as part of HydGene’s A$6m ($4m) Seed financing round and aligns with Agronomics focus on cleaner energy alternatives and owning, on a fully diluted basis, 12.5% of HydGene.

HydGene develops microorganisms, using synthetic biology, to act as a proprietary biocatalyst in the production of green hydrogen, as it enables the conversion of waste biomass into hydrogen and ammonia gases.
