Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) has broken ground on its Hydrogen Park (HyP) Gladstone blending project in Queensland.
The small demonstration facility will produce renewable hydrogen with a 175kW electrolyser powered by the grid and matched with large-scale generation certifications (LGCs), to begin cutting emissions from gas supply in the area.
With hopes to see the site become operational in early 2024, HyP Gladstone is expected to supply almost 800 homes and businesses in Gladstone and Barney Point with a bland of up to 10% renewable hydrogen in their gas supply – with no changes to customer bills.
