AFC Energy sends hydrogen generator to Spanish construction site

AFC Energy’s hydrogen generator has completed a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and validation ahead of deployment at ACCIONA’s construction site in Madrid, Spain.

The 45kVA H-Power Generator comprises AFC’s latest generation 30kW S Series fuel cell generator and a 60kWh battery storage unit (BSU).

The system left AFC Energy’s offices this week and will arrive in Spain shortly, to support ACCIONA in its ambitions to decarbonise its construction activities. They will have an option to purchase after the lease.

“ACCIONA has set high ambitions to decarbonise its construction business over an aggressive timescale and the displacement of diesel engines from sites is a key element of that strategy,” explained Miguel Paris Torres, Head of Area at ACCIONA’s Construction Business R&D Centre.
