AFC Energy appoint new CEO following Bond’s exit

Hydrogen generator developer AFC Energy has appointed John Wilson as its new CEO, set to succeed Adam Bond from January 6, 2025.

Following five years as CEO of Bulgin Ltd, Wilson will provide his “proven track record in driving strategic initiatives and delivering shareholder value” to AFC.

Gary Bullard is scheduled to take on the role of CEO on an interim basis after Bond left his role as CEO today (September 5), but the former Chief Executive shall be available to support the transition.

“I am honoured to be joining AFC Energy at such an exciting time in the company’s evolution,” claimed Wilson. “The opportunity to lead a company that is at the forefront of clean energy innovation is truly compelling.

“I look forward to working with the team at AFC Energy to build on the strong foundation laid by Adam Bond and to drive the company’s growth as we commercialise our technologies and expand our global footprint.”

Regarding the appointment of Wilson, interim CEO Bullard said, “His extensive experience in leading technology companies through growth and transformation phases makes him the ideal candidate to take AFC Energy forward.”

AFC’s hydrogen generators have been delivered to various locations in Europe.

Most recently, the company provided its highest power-rated 200kW generator to date, which was developed in collaboration with ABB e-Mobility.
