Indian power electronics firm Ador Powertron has unveiled a new 500MW manufacturing plant for green hydrogen power solutions.
The factory in Pune, Maharastra, will produce megawatt-scale transformers and rectifiers based on insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT), silicon carbide (SiC) and thyristor technologies.
Transformers and rectifiers are essential components in electrolyser systems. Transformers convert high-voltage AC supply into lower-voltage AC to meet system requirements. Rectifiers convert the transformer’s AC output into DC.
The new Yonder Hub, named under Ador’s Yonder H2 brand, is primarily aimed at meeting demand in Europe, as well as India’s own renewable energy targets.

Ador has also planned a further expansion of the facility over the next three years, committing a further Rs 50 Cr ($6.02m) investment.
“The Yonder Hub is a critical development for India’s green energy landscape,” said Ador Powertron Chairman, Ravin Mirchandani. “It aligns with our national target of achieving 500GW of non-fossil fuel-based power by 2030.”
The facility’s opening was attended by Australian Ambassador to India, Philip Green, who highlighted the importance of the two countries collaborating on sustainable energy.
Thanking the Ambassador for his presence, Mirchandani, added, “Over the years, the partnership between India and Australia has strengthened, opening up new avenues for collaboration in both traditional and emerging sectors.
“This partnership continues to offer fresh opportunities, contributing to regional stability and global cooperation.”
A 2023 India Hydrogen Alliance (IH2A) report estimated the addressable market for Indian-made hydrogen equipment could reach $45-50bn by 2030 – with 62% belonging to balance of plant equipment.
