Adani Total Gas (ATGL) has started blending 2.2-2.3% green hydrogen in piped natural gas (PNG) supplies in Shantigram, India.
The company announced it had commissioned its hydrogen blending system and in-situ hydrogen generation at the Adani Shantigram Township in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The initiative is expected to provide hydrogen-blended natural gas to 4,000 domestic and commercial customers.
H2 View understands that ATGL plans to increase the percentage of green hydrogen in the blend to up to 8% or more, depending on regulatory approvals.
The Indian firm, co-promoted by Adani Group and TotalEnergies, stated that the project’s inauguration represented a “significant step” towards reducing its carbon footprint and transitioning to cleaner energy solutions.
