Accelera opens 500MW PEM electrolyser factory in Spain

Accelera by Cummins has opened a 500MW PEM electrolyser factory in Spain as the US-headquartered firm expands manufacturing capacity in Europe.

Located in Guadalajara, Castilla-La Mancha, near Madrid, the 260,000ft² site will produce the firm’s 5MW HyLYZER®-1000 PEM systems and could be scaled to 1GW of manufacturing capacity in the future.

The zero-emissions business segment of Cummins said the plant also produces 70% of its own energy demand from 3,000 rooftop solar panel and 100 geothermal points for heating and cooling.
