Academia and industry are teaming up to develop a hydrogen “supercluster” project in the UK south-west to support research and activities.
The GW-SHIFT (Great Western Supercluster of Hydrogen Impact for Future Technologies) project, led by the University of Bath and University of Exeter has secured £2.5m ($3m) from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) as part of their Place Based Impact Acceleration Account (PBIAA) awards.
Researchers from across the GW4 Alliance of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter Universities, alongside Swansea, South Wales and Plymouth will work with 25 civic and industry partners, which will contribute over £1.5m ($1.8m) in additional funds and support.
