Associated British Ports (ABP) and EDF Group subsidiary Hynamics have announced plans to evaluate developing low-carbon hydrogen production and distribution at the Welsh Port of Barry, UK.
Hoped to aid the decarbonisation of local industries, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) sets out to see the pair deliver a feasibility study to look into the use of low-carbon hydrogen.
ABP and Hynamics have said they will explore opportunities to replace natural gas used in industrial processes with low-carbon hydrogen, as well as its use as a fossil fuel alternative in port operations and transport.
