The FT Live Hydrogen Summit took a dive into the Geopolitics of Hydrogen in its fifth session, to try and understand what the clean energy might look like in years to come.
From the get-go, the panel agreed that it is less likely to see mass cross-border hydrogen supply, partially stemming from the ware in Ukraine and Europe’s attempt cut the ties of Russian fossil fuels, but also due to the technicality.
Elizabeth Press, Director Planning and Programme Support at IRENA told the summit that we cannot look at hydrogen as a replacement for fossil fuels, but the basis of an entirely new energy system.
