Officially launched in October 2021 at an event which released Colombia’s National Hydrogen Strategy, Hidrógeno Colombia, or the Colombian Hydrogen Association, is working tirelessly with the Colombian Government to put in place the necessary mechanisms to create a hydrogen market in the country and define the regulation.
At present, the association has 12 active members including key player in the hydrogen field such as Engie, Air Liquide, Siemens and Sumitomo; important integrated Colombian energy players such as Promigas; as well as engineering, consulting, and law firms; among others.
The association is open to private companies across the hydrogen value chain, to have representation not only from hydrogen producers and technology manufacturers, but also from potential hydrogen consumers in the power, transport, and industrial sectors.
Here, in this exclusive interview as part of H2 View’s festive content series, we speak to Ana Angel, Manager for Latin America at Hinicio and co-founder of the Colombian Hydrogen Association, Hidrógeno Colombia, about the Colombian hydrogen economy, the country’s clean energy goals and the association’s future plans.
