Germany has released plans for a 9,700km core hydrogen network to connect production centres with industrial users, storage facilities, power plants and import corridors.
According to German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), Robert Habeck, the lines will be put into operation gradually between 2025 and 2032, at a cost of around €19.8bn ($21.5bn).
Habeck also said a new law to accelerate the network’s deployment could be introduced in 2023.
