95 Nikola trucks recalled due to safety issue with hydrogen tank

Bankrupt Nikola Motors has reportedly recalled up to 95 of its Tre fuel cell electric (FCEV)-powered trucks, as wrong bolts could have been used to mount the hydrogen tank.

Its hydrogen-powered trucks have been recalled as the bolts may be too long and they could damage the tank – therefore increasing the risk of a hydrogen leak and, potentially, a fire.

Once returned, dealers will inspect and replace the bolts and the hydrogen tanks if necessary. Nikola will still cover the costs of the recalls despite being bankrupt.
