The aviation sector could receive a huge boost to the incorporation of hydrogen technologies with Universal Hydrogen (UH) securing $85m in capital to advance the first test flight of hydrogen-powered regional aircraft in 2022, the group said.
This funding is expected to support the development of a test flight which will feature a UH hydrogen fuel cell powertrain implemented into a 40+ passenger regional airliner.
