83% of European decision-makers say transport can be decarbonised without hydrogen

A new market study from IMI has revealed that 83% of decision-makers in Europe see transport decarbonisation as feasible without the use of hydrogen, despite ongoing industry interest.

Approaching up to 300 decision-makers based in the UK, Germany and Italy, market research agency Censuswide carried out the analysis for IMI’s ‘The Road Ahead’ report.

Overall, 83% of respondents said it would be feasible to decarbonise public transport without any use of hydrogen, although some of these answers were specified as “entirely feasible” and “somewhat feasible,” suggesting contradiction in the market.

Some believe hydrogen will solve issues found in electric vehicles (EVs), whilst others recognise EVs as the dominant form of sustainable transport.
