The Cormorant Clean Energy project developed by 8 Rivers Capital is set to produce around 880,000 tonnes of ammonia per year.
Powered by 8 Rivers’ 8RH² hydrogen process, the technology will capture more than 1.4 million tonnes of CO2 annually, with a 99% CO2 capture rate. The technology ensures an ultra-low-carbon hydrogen process that harnesses oxy-combustion to eliminate CO2 emissions and lower costs.
At Cormorant, hydrogen produced by the technology will be turned into ultra-low-carbon ammonia that can be used for transportation, industrial processes, agriculture, and more. Being strategically located in the US Gulf Coast region means the project can leverage existing infrastructure, a skilled workforce, and the regions commitment to the energy transition.
