75th hydrogen station opens in Germany

Germany’s 75th hydrogen station was opened today in Mönchengladbach by joint venture H2 Mobility Deutschland and its shareholders Shell and Air Liquide.

Located at the Shell petrol station on Odenkirchener Straße 160 in the district of Rheydt, the station was built using technology supplied by Air Liquide.

Fundeded by the European Commission through the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen 2 Joint Undertaking (FCH JU), the station holds around 200kg of hydrogen – enough to refuel 50 vehicles a day.

Founded in 2015 by partners Air Liquide, Daimler, Linde, OMV, Shell and Total, H2 Mobility has a vision of building the filling station network of the future.
