The US Department of Energy (DoE) has announced up to $64m in funding to advance innovations that will build new markets for the H2@Scale initiative.
The investment will support transformational research and development, innovative hydrogen concepts that will encourage market expansion and increase the scale of hydrogen production, storage, transport, and use.
The US DoE has already invested a lot of capital in order to progress the US’ hydrogen sector. As a whole, the US currently produces approximately 10 million tonnes of hydrogen annually, but according to the DoE, a significant increase in hydrogen supply and demand will be required to fully realise hydrogen benefits across the economy.
