The Government of Alberta has announced it has made $50m in funding available to advance hydrogen innovation in Canada.
Through the Alberta Innovates and Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA) initiatives, the funding will support researchers, companies and industry to develop technologies that can aid the Province’s Hydrogen Roadmap and Natural Gas Strategy.
The ERA will receive $25m in funding for later-stage innovations through the Accelerating Hydrogen Challenge and the other $20-25m will come from Alberta Innovates to support early-stage innovations through the Hydrogen Centre of Excellence Competition 2, with additional funding from Natural Resources Canada (NRCan).
