25GW hydrogen megaproject in Oman gains traction with a potential output of 1.8 million tonnes of green hydrogen per year

A 25GW solar and wind megaproject in Oman is set to be coupled with electrolysis in order to generate industrial-scale quantities of green hydrogen and ammonia.

Once operational, the project will be capable of producing over 1.8 million tonnes of low-carbon green hydrogen per year in addition to 10 million tonnes of green ammonia.

This could be a major development for the global hydrogen economy by presenting an opportunity to create large amounts of green hydrogen and also be able to export this to lucrative international markets to enable decarbonisation.
