Plans for a 15MW green hydrogen plant have today (Nov 15) been unveiled for Brugg, Switzerland, to support the country’s growing number of zero-emissions vehicles.
Capable of producing approximately 2,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually via electrolysis, the plant is expected to come online near the end of 2023.
The produced hydrogen will be transported to filling stations throughout Switzerland via a pipeline and will support about 300 trucks and buses annually.
Having inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with local partners for the effort, Axpo said it will supply the required electricity for the hydrogen production from its Wildegg-Brugg hydropower plant.
