Electric utility firm Oulu Energy is planning to build a 100MW electrolytic hydrogen plant in northern Finland with plans for e-fuel production, heat recovery and oxygen off-take.
Expected to be established in the Laanila industrial area of Oulu, the project will include a 100MW electrolysis plant, a carbon capture unit and storage for hydrogen and carbon dioxide, as well as further processing to produce methane or methanol.
Coming as Oulu Energy’s first hydrogen project, the fuels produced from the plant have been earmarked for use in road, maritime and air transport applications.
