Fives Group has launched its first 100% hydrogen duct burner designed for new installations or to replace standard duct burners.
The global engineering group has named the technology the Hy-Ductflam™ and expect it to be a step towards the decarbonisation of heating and drying processes worldwide.
The technology will enable its customers to switch fuels from 100% gas to 100% hydrogen without any changes made to the equipment. By using the Hy-Ductflam™ set on 100% hydrogen, a paper plant will emit 170kg less of carbon dioxide (CO2) per tonne of paper produced, reducing its carbon footprint.
