Hydrogen made with wind and solar electricity has a long history of promising a pathway to a global clean energy economy yet failing to deliver. The high costs of these renewable power sources have hindered the mass adoption of green hydrogen in the past, but the cost of producing these renewables is declining quicker than previously expected. As the cost of producing green hydrogen steadily decreases, the global urgency to deliver clean energy alternatives is growing. One region that has an edge in the production of green hydrogen is South America with its abundance of wind and solar resources.
